If you are 40 or over, uninsured or your insurance does not cover mammograms and cost is a concern, call today about our upcoming free Breast Health Screening Day. Appointments are limited – call today to see if you qualify for this free service made possible from the philanthropic efforts of The Women’s Committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital and by our nurse practitioners and physicians who conduct this screening. This FREE screening includes a mammogram, self-exam instruction and a clinical breast exam. Free blood glucose and cholesterol level screenings are available.

Free Skin Cancer Screening (May 4)

Skin cancer is an undeclared epidemic, yet about 80 percent of skin cancers could be prevented by protecting ourselves from the sun’s rays. Make Martha Jefferson’s free skin cancer screening part of your strategy for protection. Board-certified dermatologists and other healthcare professionals will check sun-exposed skin and provide sun safety information and education.

Prostate Screening

Participants will receive a prostate-antigen (PSA) blood test and a digital exam (DRE) by a Martha Jefferson urologist. Designed for men age 50 and over, or age 45 if African American. Men who have no health insurance or primary care physician are encouraged to attend. FREE. No appointments necessary. Screenings are available on a first-arrival basis. Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Screening

Perpheral Arterial Disease (PAD) affects an estimated 8 to 10 million people in the United States and increases their risk of heart attack, stroke and loss of limbs.
