Martha Jefferson has a comprehensive program for seniors that includes orthopedic care, fall prevention, balance retraining, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis treatment and instruction in home safety. A Geriatric Certified Physical Therapist is on staff providing specialized assessment and treatment for seniors.
Osteoarthritis care includes specially designed programs to strengthen and support painful joints and to maintain flexibility to for maximal joint function and pain management. Martha Jefferson Physical and Occupational Therapists work to develop an individualized program to minimize the risk of injury and maximize function.
Martha Jefferson also has the only Charlottesville Certified Aging-in Place Specialist (CAPS) who consults with individuals, builders and architects for home modifications for safe, independent living.
