Financial Assistance Policy

Uninsured/Underinsured Patients

Financial Assistance is administered under a program entitled the Martha Jefferson HealthTrust and consists of the four options listed below. Each individual's ability to contribute to the cost of his or her care is evaluated independently and allowances will be made for extenuating circumstances based on good faith efforts and mitigating factors.

The financial counselors at Martha Jefferson Hospital may reach out to an individual to ask if he/she would like to apply for financial assistance. A patient or responsible party may request such assistance prior to, during or subsequent to services rendered by contacting a Financial Counselor at (434) 654-8186, (434) 654-7485 or by e-mailing patfinser@mjh.org.
